iConcerts® and CLA sign a VOD distribution deal

German VOD distributor CLA and Transmedia Communications SA sign an agreement to distribute
the iConcerts branded VOD channel

Switzerland based Transmedia Group and Berlin based digital film distributor CLA (Content Licensing
Agency) have signed an exclusive agreement to market and distribute the iConcerts branded VOD and
EST services in German language territories as well as selected digital platforms in East Europe.

Easy Accounting of Video On Demand (VOD) and Electronic Sell Through (EST) Proceeds

The VOD and EST service provider “CLA” makes an on-line accounting platform available to holders of VOD and EST distribution rights

The Berlin company CLA is a service provider for the digital distribution of films on the VOD/EST market and for VOD/EST proceeds accounting. Nearly 100 holders of VOD/EST rights utilize the services of CLA to manage the distribution of their films with all German as well as most European VOD/EST portals and to perform proceeds accounting. CLA evaluates protocols and credit entries of portals and delivers summarized and clearly laid out monthly bills to the rightholders.

This is currently being optimized by an on-line accounting platform (LMP = Licence Management Platform): rightholders are enabled to log on to a protected area and to view and manage the sales volume of their films on VOD/EST portals “live”. Utilizing LMP saves them the trouble of handling portal reportings as well as the corresponding accounting and debt recovery. In addition to that, the platform offers various convenient tools for market analysis.

What lies behind this offer is CLA’s seven-plus years of know-how and experience on the VOD market. CLA is supplier to nearly all European VOD/EST portals and conducts the digital acquisition, delivery and accounting processes (e.g. film and meta data management, monthly license accounting, debt recovery, encoding, DRM encryption).  The platform was developed in collaboration with Visono GmbH (www.visono.de), the german market leader of Video on Demand systems and Media Asset Management software.
